Who is covered by the legal guarantee

Consumers (purchases for personal use, without a VAT number): the 24-month legal guarantee of conformity from delivery applies, as summarised in the official EU notice above.

Businesses and professionals (purchases with a VAT number for business purposes): the warranty against defects under the Italian Civil Code (art. 1490 ff.) applies. It covers defects that make the product unfit for use or reduce its value, for 12 months from delivery. Defects must be reported within 8 days of discovery.

Commercial guarantees

For all buyers, consumers and professionals alike, the producer's commercial guarantees still apply, often longer, together with any extended warranty purchased. These guarantees are in addition to the legal guarantee and do not replace it.

Products for which the producer offers, at no extra cost, a commercial guarantee of durability of more than two years on the whole product show the EU GARAN label next to the product image.
