Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K PL – 6K full frame box cinema camera, PL mount
PYXIS 6K PL is a box style digital film camera designed to be rigged your way: it has a 6K 6048 x 4032 full frame sensor with optical low pass filter, 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO 400 and 3200, PL mount with /i Technology, two CFexpress Type B slots and side plates and mounting points to build the right rig for every production.
What the PYXIS 6K PL is for
It is designed for film, commercials, music videos and productions with gimbals, drones, cars or special rigs, where a compact configurable camera is more practical than a traditional body. It records Blackmagic RAW, with real time H.264 proxies for editing, and integrates with Blackmagic Cloud for sharing files.
Monitor, recording and connections
Built in 4" 1920 x 1080 touchscreen and USB-C port for the viewfinder or PYXIS Monitor; 12G-SDI output up to 2160p60; 2 CFexpress Type B slots and a USB-C port for external disks; Gigabit Ethernet; mini XLR audio input with phantom power and 3.5 mm stereo input; built in stereo microphone; BP-U batteries.
Software
Every Blackmagic camera includes DaVinci Resolve Studio, the editing, grading, effects and audio software used in film and television, which reads Blackmagic RAW files directly.
How to choose
PYXIS 12K has the same body with a 12K RGBW sensor and 16 stops, for maximum resolution. Compared with Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K, which has the same sensor in a traditional camera body with a 5" screen, PYXIS is a box camera to rig with accessories, with 2 CFexpress slots, 12G-SDI output and Ethernet.
