With 10G Ethernet on the Blackmagic Studio Converter and Blackmagic Studio Camera Pro, all camera signals travel on one IP link: camera feed, program return, timecode, reference, tally, talkback and control. It gives the same benefits as SMPTE fiber, using a much cheaper standard 10G copper Ethernet cable.
What the Studio Converter is for
The converter breaks out all video, audio and talkback connections in the control room, and has a power supply that powers the camera down the Ethernet cable, so no power source is needed near the camera.

2 SDI inputs and 2 outputs up to 12G, monitor output, timecode and reference on BNC, talkback on RJ-45, analog program audio, 6.35 mm headphones and speaker, 10G Ethernet with PoE to the camera over Cat 6A and 1G Ethernet for control, USB-C, panel with 7 buttons, knob and 2.2" display. Internal 100-240V supply, 40 W plus camera power.
