Blackmagic Design UltraStudio 4K Extreme 3 – 4K Thunderbolt 3 and PCIe interface, 12G-SDI
UltraStudio 4K Extreme 3 is the most complete Blackmagic Design capture and playback interface for Thunderbolt and PCI Express computers. It has 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 for working at up to 60 frames per second in 4K with deep color, 12-bit RGB and HDR via HDMI 2.0a, plus the widest range of analog and digital connections.
What UltraStudio 4K Extreme 3 is for
It is designed for editing, grading and finishing suites working in 4K with cameras, recorders, monitors and equipment of every kind. Being external, it moves easily from one computer to another.
Connections
2 x 12G-SDI and 2 x 6G-SDI inputs and outputs (single, dual and quad link, 4:2:2 or 4:4:4, 2D or 3D), HDMI 2.0 in and out up to 2160p60, component YUV and composite video in and out, 4 channels of balanced analog XLR audio in and out plus 2 RCA input channels, Black Burst or Tri-Sync reference.
Connection and compatibility
It connects over Thunderbolt 3 or over 4 lane PCI Express with the Blackmagic PCI Express Cable Kit, sold separately, for a high speed connection. It works on Mac, Windows and Linux with the Desktop Video driver, which includes Media Express, Disk Speed Test and the setup utility, and is compatible with the main editing, graphics and streaming software.
4K Extreme 3 or 4K Mini?
UltraStudio 4K Mini is smaller and portable, with a single 12G-SDI input; 4K Extreme 3 has more SDI channels, multi channel XLR audio and the PCI Express connection.
