UltraStudio HD Mini is an external Thunderbolt 3 interface for capturing and playing back broadcast video in SD and HD with a laptop or a computer without slots. It has 3G-SDI, analog component and composite video and analog audio inputs, 3G-SDI outputs with fill and key, and an HDMI output for monitoring.
What UltraStudio HD Mini is for
It suits live graphics and titling, thanks to the fill and key outputs for keying in switchers, capture from decks including analog ones controlled over RS-422, and HDMI monitoring while editing.
Connections
1 x 3G-SDI input, 2 x 3G-SDI outputs (dual link, fill and key), 1 x HDMI 1.4b output, analog video input Y, B-Y, R-Y or NTSC/PAL, 2 x 1/4 inch jack audio inputs for balanced and unbalanced sources, Black Burst or Tri-Sync reference input, RS-422 port. SD and HD formats up to 1080p60.
Connection and compatibility
It connects to a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port. It works on Mac, Windows and Linux with the Desktop Video driver, which includes Media Express, Disk Speed Test and the setup utility, and is compatible with the main editing, graphics and streaming software.
UltraStudio HD Mini or 4K Mini?
For Ultra HD and 4K you need UltraStudio 4K Mini, with 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0b. For HD work with fill and key and analog connections, HD Mini is more compact and affordable.
