Fremont, CA, USA - Thursday, January 29, 2025 - Blackmagic Design today announced Blackmagic Camera for Android 2.0, which adds support for selected Android tablets including Xiaomi Pad 6 and Samsung Tab S9, as well as the new Samsung S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra phones.

New update adds support for Xiaomi Pad 6, Samsung Tab S9 tablet and S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra phones, plus remote control and monitoring of multiple Android phones and tablets!

Blackmagic Camera 2.0 – Summary

The latest update introduces remote control and monitoring for multiple phones and tablets simultaneously. Users can designate one device as the controller to adjust settings for all Blackmagic Cameras on the same WiFi network. A multi-view mode allows them to monitor each camera’s shots and start or stop recording across all devices at once.

This update also adds 120 fps and 240 fps recording support for select Sony Xperia devices and compatibility with Tilta Nucleus USB devices for lens control. The Blackmagic Camera app is now available for free on Google Play.

Designed to transform Android phones and tablets into professional digital film cameras, the app provides cinematic film controls with an intuitive HUD (Heads-Up Display). Users can adjust frame rate, shutter angle, ISO, and white balance in a single tap or record directly to Blackmagic Cloud in up to 8K resolution.
Professional Features

Multiple aspect ratios: Shoot in 16:9 or vertical mode, with the option to hold the phone vertically while shooting 16:9 for discreet filming.
Media management: Upload directly to Blackmagic Cloud, chat, and access advanced settings.
Audio controls: Support for external microphones, VU/PPM meters, and advanced audio monitoring.
Lens & exposure tools: Anamorphic de-squeeze, lens correction, zebra patterns, focus assist, and frame guides.
3D LUT support: Apply cinematic color grading in-camera.

Remote Camera Control & Multi-Camera Shooting

Users can position phones in hard-to-reach places and still have full control via the remote camera control feature. With a single press, they can adjust settings, monitor all shots in multi-view, and sync recording across devices. This makes multi-camera event capture seamless, using just Android phones or tablets.
Blackmagic Cloud & DaVinci Resolve Integration

Automatic HD proxy recording: The app records a small proxy file alongside the original footage.
Instant cloud uploads: Footage can be instantly shared with editors worldwide, even while cameras are still recording.
Direct DaVinci Resolve integration: Media files sync directly to DaVinci Resolve project bins, allowing editors to access, edit, and color grade in real time.
Multi-camera editing: DaVinci Resolve’s Cut page multi-source feature enables multi-angle editing, enhancing professional workflows.

Conclusion

With advanced camera controls, real-time cloud collaboration, and remote multi-camera management, Blackmagic Camera 2.0 revolutionizes mobile filmmaking and global post-production workflows.
