Samyang 135mm T2.2 VDSLR ED UMC – Micro Four Thirds mount
The Samyang 135mm T2.2 VDSLR ED UMC is a manual focus telephoto cine lens designed for full-frame sensors. The bright T2.2 aperture and soft out-of-focus areas suit portraits, interviews, night scenes, wildlife and reportage. The optical design has 11 elements in 7 groups with extra-low dispersion (ED) glass and Samyang Ultra Multi Coating (UMC); a floating design reduces spherical aberration and distortion. Minimum focus distance is 0.8 m. This version has the Micro Four Thirds mount, for Panasonic Lumix, OM System/Olympus and other Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras.
Built for film and video work, it has gear rings for follow focus systems on both the focus and the aperture ring (0.8 mm module), and the de-clicked aperture changes exposure quietly and smoothly while recording. T-stop and distance scales are marked on both sides of the barrel, so they can be read by the operator and by the focus puller. The diaphragm has 9 blades for a nearly circular aperture, the barrel is in high-strength aluminium alloy and a detachable petal-shaped hood is provided. Lenses of the Samyang VDSLR line share the same colour rendering and the same position of the focus and aperture gears, which makes lens changes on a rig quicker.
